The team at Life Style Store worked on this stunning house in Dover Heights. We installed a home theatre systemin an open basement space and a music system for the client's home office.

The space that the home theatre had to be installed into was a difficult environment due to its all concrete construction. The products selected and the system design had to be carefully planned to allow everything to work successfully and harmoniously in the space.

The Office

The music system had to integrate within the space available in the office and has been designed to show off the premium electronics. Premium Dynaudio Contour speakers were selected for their ability to produce great sound and detail at any volume.

The Home Theatre

A dropped starlight ceiling panel with concealed LED strip lighting was installed below the concrete ceiling which allowed 4 shallow mount KEF Atmos speakers to be concealed in this space. The cavity created by the dropped starlight ceiling also concealed the HDMI, power and control cables running to the projector with the projector being mounted on a custom board at the end of the starlight panel.

A Sony projector was selected for its stunning 4K picture quality and its 1500 ANSI lumens brightness which worked extremely well with the Screen Innovations High Gain Black Diamond Screen that was installed in the room. Sound is provided by a Marantz AV receiver powering Paradigm Prestige series speakers and a Paradigm Seismic subwoofer.

Custom joinery was also designed and supplied by Life Style Store to conceal all the home theatre equipment at the front of the room and the centre speaker and subwoofer are located behind a custom grille in the centre of the cabinet. A curtain was added around the perimeter of the room to improve the systems acoustic performance, darken the room for the best picture quality and to also segregate the room from the rest of the open plan area. When the curtain is closed this transforms the open plan space into a dedicated movie room.

The complete system including the lighting in the room is operated via Control4 for simple and reliable operation.
