Lamborghini Murcielago’s are well known for their signature V12 Symphony engine note however, the sound system sounded more like amateur night at the karaoke bar.
As always we set out to rectify that issue in the Lifestyle store fashion!
To begin we stripped the car down to the bare bones removing all the factory audio equipment and prepping the car for its sound deadening treatment. We laid down a layer of Dynamat over the rear firewall and the inner and outer skins of the doors.
After that, we ran all new Rockford Fosgate cabling into the Frunk where the amps and DSP would be mounted later on and then into the doors and rear wall for the speakers and subwoofer location.
The head unit is limited for space so it was replaced with the Pioneer AVH-Z7150BT Apple car play unit with flip out screen. The speakers, subwoofer, and amplifiers used are all Focal components controlled by a Helix mini DSP.
The speakers and subwoofer of choice were from the Focal Utopia Range. The speakers are the new 165W-XP custom fit into the doors to try and keep a custom yet factory look to the interior. The subwoofer used is the 21WX 8″ in a custom fibreglass enclosure located behind the driver’s seat.
The Amplifiers used are the Focal digital class FPX2.750 2 channel to run the speakers and an FPX1.1000 mono block to run the subwoofer. The amplifiers and DSP are housed in a custom amp rack trimmed in a close to factory black carpet located in the Frunk with Red LED backlighting to give it a bit of flare.
Now the sound system matches the performance of the car it is installed into.
